The Baa Atoll Conservation Fund (BACF) provides financial support for the effective management and long-term sustainability of the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve. The Fund’s resources are used to meet its administrative costs and to support projects and programmes implemented by the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office.
BACF provides funding for projects and programmes that contribute to the conservation, sustainable development and effective management of the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve, including:
The Fund’s long-term spending programme is guided by relevant national policies and priorities for Baa Atoll, with a focus on biodiversity conservation, protected area management, nature protection, environmental sustainability, sustainable livelihoods, and the responsible management and use of land and natural resources.BACF may also participate in the co-financing of programmes, projects and related activities undertaken in collaboration with domestic and international financial institutions, international organisations and other eligible foreign entities.
