The Baa Atoll Conservation Fund (BACF) Board held a meeting on 14 August 2014 to review matters relating to the Fund’s 2014 budget, the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office budget, and the BACF Grants Programme.

During the meeting, the Board discussed the proposed BACF and Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office budgets for 2014. The Board also considered proposals received under the BACF Grants Programme, with presentations made on the submitted project proposals to support the Board’s review and consideration of the applications.

Following the discussions and presentations, the Board agreed that all relevant documents would be circulated to Board members for further review and consideration.

A key decision of the meeting was to finalize the selection of BACF grant recipients at the next Board meeting, based on the documents and information circulated to members. The Board also agreed to continue its consideration of the 2014 BACF and Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office budgets at the next meeting in relation to the grants programme.

The Board agreed to hold its next meeting in Eydhafushi on 18 August 2014, where members would consider the circulated documents and proceed with the finalisation of the 2014 budget and approval of the selected grants.

The meeting represented an important step in the BACF’s 2014 planning and grant-making process, bringing the Board closer to finalising financial allocations and supporting community and conservation initiatives across Baa Atoll.
