Outbors Engine Repair and Maintenance Training program starts

The inauguration of “Outboad Engine Repair and maintenance Course” funded by Baa Atoll Conservation Fund under was held on 19 November in Eydhafushi. A  delegation from Maldives Police Services, Alia Investment Pvt Ltd together with Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve Office, Baa Atoll Conservation Fund, senior officials from public and private sector attended the opening ceremony. 
 
Certified Instructors from Yamaha, Mercury and Maldives Police Services will be  in-charge of all training sessions which includes both theory practical and practical which will be held for a period of twenty one days.

Project by: Kendhoo School (Education /Awareness, Conservation).
 
4. Kihaadhoo Goes Organic
Project by: FAAM Foundation of Kihaadhoo  (Education/Awareness, Livelihood).
 
5. Construction of Monument
Project by: Kudarikilu Council (Livelihood).
 
6. Eco friendly fertilizer production
Project by Maalhos Women’s Development Committee (Livelihood).
 
7. Training Course on Lacquer Works
Project by: Thulhaadhoo Council (Livelihood). 
 
 
 
Under the SECOND CYCLE of grants from BACF, furnished 2 bedroom apartments will be developed on all 13 inhabited islands as endorsed by the fund board in 2020. The Atoll Coucil would be responsible in carrying out work on all related aspects of these developments

Thank you for your interest in the Baa Atoll Conservation Fund. 

 
The Baa Atoll Conservation Fund is a trust fund established on 18 April 2012 under the Public Finance Act of the Republic of Maldives on 18 April 2012.
 
The Fund has been established to provide targeted grants to civil society organizations (CSOs) with priority for national and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), scientific community, women’s committees, schools, councils and resorts. 
 
For the first cycle of grants 2013/2014 a sum US$100,00 (Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) have been budgeted and application for grants in the form of projects will be open from 25 November 2013 onwards.
 
Grants from BACF will be available in the following fields:
 
1. Program for the protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll,
 
2. Livelihood improvement program for Baa Atoll, focusing on projects that are in line with sustainability and atoll ecosystem conservation policies,
 
3. Research, awareness raising and education program, focused on protection, conservation and management of biological and natural resources, biodiversity and nature protection in Baa Atoll.
 
It should be noted that proposals from individuals are not entertained rather these proposals should come through in affiliation with any of the mentioned above organizations. 
 
You can complete and submit the application form to Baa Atoll Conservation Fund  before the said deadline on the Call for pre-proposal (12 December 2013).
 
The maximum grant amount obtainable per project is US$ 15,000 for a duration of up to 24 months.
 
Once your application has been submitted your application and the rest of other applications will be reviewed by an independent evaluation committee and the shortlisted applications will be informed to submit the detail proposal.
